Non-Event and Balagan
present an evening of original experimental sound + film works by

ASHA TAMIRISA (sound)
VICTORIA SHEN (sound)
AgX FILM COLLECTIVE (film + video)

Conceived as a sort of “live installation,” this second collaborative event between Non-Event and Balagan in the Waterworks Museum seeks to exploit the acoustic and architectural peculiarities of the massive 19th-century pumping station as a non-traditional cinema space and concert venue. Multiple 16mm and video projections, in combination with live multichannel performances by local experimental musicians, Victoria Shen and Asha Tamirisa, will breathe new life into the giant pumping engines of the museum’s Great Engines Hall.

Roughly a dozen members of the AgX Film Collective will present new works specially created for the space, informed by its history and architecture, and in dialogue with its intended function and design. Projectors will be placed throughout the facilities, shining abstracted and figurative imagery onto its many curved and textured surfaces, obstructed and shaped by the geometry of its numerous valves, pistons, and gears.
